Stage Manager/Production Manager/Adjunct Professor of Entertainment Management
Elynmarie Kazle (stage management mentor) in her third year at ONU, is a stage and production manager working in dance, theatre, film and special events. Theatrical work includes: Brooklyn Academy of Music, Great Lakes Theatre, Cleveland and Pasadena Play Houses, Opera Columbus, Columbus Dance Theatre as well as San Diego’s Old Globe and Opera Companies, and Los Angeles Classical Ballet. While in LA she produced numerous director and choreographer workshops for the SDC Directors and Choreographers Union and served as Resident Producer and Development Director for the Santa Monica Playhouse. While in Los Angeles, she served on the Los Angeles Music Commission grants committee and as a cultural ambassador to Sweden.
She served eight years as Chair of the Stage Managers’ Association of the United States, during a time when the Association experienced unprecedented membership and financial growth. She currently serves as the President of the new Stage Managers’ Association Foundation. She is a Fellow of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) where she created USITT’s SM mentoring program. Kazle has been an active participant in National Theatre Conference, Production Managers Forum and the Gateway Project as well as teaching and adjudicating at Thespian Festivals around the country. This fall she will direct her tenth production for Akron School for the Arts: Four Women talking about the Man Under the Sheet by Elaine Jarvik.
She has led organizations big and small including Weathervane Playhouse (Executive Director) where she helmed a very successful 1.75 Mil Capital campaign and Ballet Theatre of Ohio where she served as Financial and Development Director. Kazle has been tapped to consult with nationally known Boards of Directors around the country, (from both inside and outside of the entertainment realm) on strategic planning, fundraising and management structure.
A leader for Scouting USA for the past 15 years, she works with Troop One, Akron and the Great Trail Council Scouting Program to develop and mentor the leaders of tomorrow.
